Concerning Time No 2

It seems to me that the position of the sun and the stars in the sky may not determine our past, present, or future. To get a better idea of what I am saying consider a tree. A tree starts out as a seed that is its beginning. A tree grows at a certain rate into a sapling. It then continues to grow until it is a full size tree. If we look at the tree at its current size that is its present, and its past is when it was a seed, a sapling, and every other size in between its current size. It is always drifting into the future, because it is always changing.
The sun's rays do play a part in its growth, but it alone doesn't determine the tree's destiny. Time for the tree is best measured by its growth. The end of the tree's time is when its changes come to an end.

Concerning Time

Time. We all live in the boundaries of time, but what is time? It is a very difficult concept to put into words. It could be defined as change. When something changes is proof that time exists. Our understanding of time is so limited. We break time up in seconds, minutes, hours, days, decades, centuries, etc.
If time is defined by the position of the sun, then no two spaces ever share the same time. We are always walking through time. If we walk in the direction of the sun are we walking in the past of the point that we started walking from?

Concerning Persona

Persona means the social front, facade, or mark an individual assumes to depict to the world at large the role in life that he is playing.
The above is a dictionary meaning of the word persona. It has been said by certain poet-philosophers that for every person we know is the same number of persons that we have within us. I know this to be true. To our parents we assume the role of children. To our children we assume the role of parents. To our brothers and sisters the role of sibling. The list goes on and on. We often bury our true selves under all these different masks that we have to put on. To some people, we are strong and brave. To others we are weak and cowardly. Some people look to us for guidance, while we are sheep to others. In life we are called upon to play our many roles. If we pay attention to the people around us we can play the part that they desire of us. But how bad it is when we get confused and play the wrong role to the wrong person. When this happens should we say, "I am sorry. I meant that for another?"
Would they understand? Will they admit that they are playing a part too? We must do that which is required of us. We must wear our masks and play our parts to perfection.
Woe to us if all our personas came out at once! It would be chaos and our mind would shatter under the strain.

Concerning Music

Music is a sound arranged in such a way as to reflect a mood. Music can sound beautiful; it can invoke a forgotten memory. Ah, the beauty of music. Some people claim that music is the universal language. There are few in the world that does not at least like some form of music. Music can make the day go by faster. It can paint a mental picture in our head. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then music is worth ten thousand pictures. All cultures at all times have made use of the power of music. Television shows and movies would be nothing without music.
Music sparks our imagination. It can lift us to the highest stars or sink into the lowest pits of hell. What kind of music we listen to, tells more about our character than nearly anything else we can do. We become our music. We are music. Our lives are music; the secret to the universe is music. Oh, glorious music the maker of nations, the great lover, the great friend, the perfect foe.
He who controls music controls the soul. Music is all around us. We hear it when we hear a waterfall; we hear it when we hear rain dripping into a bucket. Our whole lives are a musical that is sure to end on a tragic note. But, be not of despair for there is a universal hope of a new life. A resurrection piece should be played after the tragic note.
The most popular form of music is music concerning itself with love. Every form of music goes back to the greatest of human emotions, love. All classical music can be considered love music of sorts.
Music can be composed to cause hate, but that sort of music will fade from the collective human mind. The music of love is too powerful, it is too strong. In time it shall smash the hate music. And it shall stand alone and rule alone. The deeper and more interesting music shall destroy the fad music composed for the sole purpose of profit.
Music makes masters and slaves of us all. And it does these two things at the same time.

Concerning Memory

Are there some memories in our head that don't belong to us? Could some of our memories in our head belong to our ancestors? This is a possibility. Our looks, personality, health, and everything about us have been determined by our genetic code handed down to us through our ancestors. It stands to reason that we should receive some memories from our great ancestors. Who has not seen a bonfire and thought of images of long ago? Who has not thought of the ancestors of long ago, while staring at a fire? Many Americans, I know, have visited the countries of their ancestors and felt they had been there before. Could this be a result of an inherent memory? Who has not been in the woods and not imagined a herd of buffaloes or imagined a great hunter from long ago? Could this be a result of an inherent memory?
Of course, there are a thousand different explanations to the questions above, but inherent memory is one possible explanation.
